Notes
The Märklin 48727 is a 4-axle flat car for heavy transport, loaded with a battle tank M48 G of the Deutsche Bundeswehr. To anchor the vehicle to the car, plastic wheel blocks are supplied which can be attached to the loading platform of the wagon. The car has a length of 12.4 cm and is equipped with close couplings (KK). The M48 G main battle tank is painted in an olive green color with black and brown camouflage pattern. The tub, superstructure and track units are made of metal. The other parts are made of plastic. The turret and weapon (barrel) are movable. Furthermore, the tank has German license plates. The model was released in 2009 and was part of Märklins 4MFOR program. Background: The heavy load car of the Rlmmps type is intended for the transport of heavy goods. The cars are relatively short cars, to prevent them from bending due to the heavy load. The Rlmmps is a 4-axle car of the Deutsche Bahn AG (DB AG) from era IV. Main battle tank M 48 G : The M 48 Patton is a medium tank that was put into production from 1952. The tank was given a very rounded shape that provided better ballistic protection than angular shapes. Outside the United States, the M48 is still widely used. The first foreign users were NATO countries. Major users were Germany, Greece, Norway, Spain and Turkey. Other users included Iran, Israel, Jordan, Pakistan, Taiwan and South Korea. Germany equipped its M48A2Cs with a new 105mm gun, a rear turret storage area and smoke grenades, creating the M48A2GA2.
