Four German Railroad, Inc. (DB AG) pressure-resistant passenger cars of various types for the RE 4018 Munich-Nürnberg Express from Munich to Nürnberg. -04: One type ABvmsz 184.0 open seating / compartment car 1st/2nd class, (No 7380 31-84 002-1) -03: One type Bpmz 295.4 open seating cars, 2nd class (No 7380 20-95 632-7) -02: One type Bpmz 295.4 open seating cars, 2nd class (No 7380 20-95 626-9) -01 One Bpmbdzf 296.3 cab control car, 2nd class. Traffic red basic paint scheme. (No 7380 80-91 311-5) The cars look as they did in 2017. Prototypeinfo(sourcw www.maerklin.de): When the high-speed line Nürnberg – Ingolstadt – Munich was placed in service on December 10, 2006, a new era began here in long-distance and regional service. This new construction route between Nürnberg and Ingolstadt can be run at a maximum of 300 km/h / 188 mph, the expansion route further on to Munich can be run at 160 to 200 km/h / 100 to 125 mph. On December 6, 2006, the first official run took place of the Munich-Nürnberg Express, which quickly ran as the fastest regional service in Germany on the new high-speed line Nürnberg – Ingolstadt to Munich. It has since been the complete pride of the Bavarian Railroad Company (BEG), which organizes the commuter and regional service in the Free State of Bavaria: Regional service trains run at up to 200 km/h / 125 mph on two-hour intervals through the tunnels on the tracks of this ICE line – faster than anywhere else in Germany. Their running time was thereby shortened by a half hour compared to the old route via Treuchtlingen. The rolling stock used here is also unusual. The cars are former InterCity cars, which are pressure resistant and air conditioned, and they were renovated in the DB shops in Neumünster, which were set up for use in regional service. For the most part, the cars were given a new paint scheme in the DB Regio product color of traffic red. Otherwise, unchanged type Bpmbdzf cab control cars and second class cars (type Bpmz) with the lettering Regio DB – München-Nürnberg-Express were available. They have since been designated as types 296.3 and 295.4. Only the type ABvmsz (new type 184.0), which emerged from the type Bvmz, was given 1st class equipment in two compartments. For motive power, DB Regio of Upper Bavaria leased class 101 electric locomotives from DB Long-Distance Service, which have a maximum speed of 200 km/h / 125 mph and are pressure resistant for service on new construction lines. Standard operation until 2021 is six-part train sets with the class 101, a type Abvmsz, four type Bpmz, and the type Bpmzdf cab control car. Thanks to the expansion and the high-speed line, you can travel at a speed of up to 200 km/h / 125 mph in a good hour and a half between the Bavarian capital and the Franconian urban area – and all of that at affordable terms such as the Bavarian Ticket or other regional tickets. This connection is especially popular with passengers in the railroad area of Bavaria– which is why the BEG and DB Regio would clearly like to expand the program with new train sets. New bi-level trains from Škoda are planned to provide more trains and more space in the trains in the future. These units will replace the sets used up to now.
