They weigh between 48.3 and 49.5 metric tons, depending on how they are equipped. In switching work the maximum speed of 60 km/h or 38 mph is called upon only in exceptional cases. Although the first locomotives of this class were placed into service as early as 1955, their attractive paint scheme makes them look very modern.
