Steam locomotive with tender BR 23 BR 23 of the DB, traction tires, Synthetic tender, inscription company number. 23 014, on locomotive 3005 Edition 3005.01: 1954 - 1955 The black plastic housing has a dome and a vent. The boiler with copper-coloured boiler rings has Witte smoke deflectors at the front that are only plugged in. The front and side windows are unglazed. The drivers cab has a rear sheet metal panel that prevents the engine from being seen. Handrails, handlebars and cables attached to the side are made of nickel-plated wire. The access ladders, as well as other attachments on the locomotive, are also cast on. The perimeter and the lower part of the drivers cab are painted angular red. All inscriptions are raised. The dual headlight signal can only be found on the front locomotive. There are raised silver-colored inscriptions DA 800 on the housing and the inscription DA 809 on the tender. The locomotive has a manual shift lever for setting the direction of travel. The red cast chassis has black cylinder blocks on which the Märklin emblems can be found on raised surfaces. The locomotive has three drive axles that are driven directly via gears. The rear wheel set is equipped with traction tires. The linkage is partially highlighted in red. The locomotive has a 1-axle trailer and a single-axle trailer with 6 spokes. All wheel sets have red-painted spoke wheels. The locomotive has a type 6E coupling at the front. The rear drawbar of the trailer has a spike to hold the tender. The locomotive has two lamp rods made of nickel-plated wire at the front. The tender housing is made of black plastic with carbon imitation. The ladders are cast on. The tender housing is screwed onto the chassis from below. The lettering on the tender is raised. The dual headlight signal has a silver background and is designed as a dummy or has no function. The chassis with two rotating bogies is made of sheet metal. The chassis replicas are made of red plastic and are attached separately. The wheel sets consist of silver spoke wheels. There is a pull rod on the tender that can be loosely attached to the locomotive. The type 2 2 T 31 tender has a type 5A coupling. Edition 3005.02: Built in 1956, Like the variant 3005.1, but from 1956 onwards the leading and trailing frames were delivered in black paint. The locomotive body or locomotive housing was made of cast iron. Furthermore, the 23 got blank, raised inscriptions. The locomotive was listed in the catalogue with the item number DA 800 until 1956. The tender was fitted with a type 6A coupling. Edition 3005.03: 1957 - 1958 Like the variant 3005.2, but from 1957, the smoke deflectors were delivered screwed on and the tender received a different type 6B coupling. Edition 3005.04: 1959 - 1960 Like variant 3005.3, but the locomotive body has the raised inscription 3005. Edition 3005.05: 1961 - 1968 Like the variant 3005.4, but from 1961 the raised inscription 3005 was also on the tender. Variant 3005.06: 1971 - 1972 Like the variant 3005.5, but the leading wheels were delivered with 9 spokes and the lamp rods were no longer mounted in this version. Instead of the Märklin emblem, only raised surfaces were reproduced on the cylinders. The front coupling on the locomotive was no longer guided through a slot. The steps on the front buffer beam painted black. In this variant, the manual gear lever for switching was missing. The inscription 3005 on the locomotive and tender was also omitted. From 1973 onwards the locomotive was no longer included in the range; it was delivered as a parts set from 1973 to 1980 with the item number 3905.
