Railroad Crane Set with Digital Functions.

German Federal Railroad (DB) Goliath 150 metric ton crane car with boom support car and counterweight car.

Crane car with 8-axle metal frame and superstructure. Metal counter weights that can be mounted on the crane. Electrical pickup, 3 motors and special version digital decoder for remote control with the 6021 Control Unit. Superstructure with boom can be rotated on a prototypical crown gear. Boom can be raised and lowered by means of pulley and double block and tackle. Metal main hook can be raised and lowered by means of pulley and double block and tackle. Four outrigger support arms can be swung out manually and can be fixed in placed on the bases included with the crane set by means of spindle levelers. Maximum length of the superstructure with boom and counterweights is 34 cm

Maximum working radius of the hook is 21 cm. The crane boom swings to the side prototypically on curves during transport. Crane boom car supports the boom and provides a rest position for the crane hooks and the support bases (stacked ties). Counterweight car with special equipment for the transport and installation of the counterweights

A complete train of crane tender cars stands ready for the German Federal Railroads (DB, now the DB AG) large crane cars such as the Goliath. The crane group, an experienced team of specialists, is permanently assigned to the the train and is constantly in readiness - or in use. Work cars with different tools and machines as well as equipment cars for cables and other salvage material are present in this train in addition to the flat cars necessary for the transport of the crane that carry the boom and the counterweights. Additional cars serve as living quarters for the crew. The enclosed cars for the heavy crane groups are chiefly converted from former mail cars. The windows, doors and interiors are altered to suit the cars new assignment. Crew cars and work cars are equipped with a diaphragm connection at one end and usually remained coupled together.
