| Container car set with three cars
Container transport car set consisting of 3 different design container transport cars. Two type Lgs 580 2-axle container transport cars and one type Sgns 691 4-axle container transport car. All of the cars in a traffic red basic paint scheme. German Railroad, Inc. (DB AG). The transport cars are loaded with 20-foot and 40-foot box containers for different firms. The cars look as they did in Era VI.
Type Lgs 580 Container Transport Car Set
The type Lgs 580 two-axle container cars have an interesting past. They emerged from the type Hbis 297 / 299 sliding wall boxcars, which were no longer needed in less-than-carload-lot service. Between 1998 and 2000, they were converted to the container transport cars required now. Their capacity includes two 20-foot containers up to a maximum of a 40-foot container. Conversely, the type Sgns 691 container transport cars equipped with trucks can be loaded with three 20-foot containers, two 30-foot containers, or a 45-foot container.
The type Lgs 580 transport cars have a representation of corrugated metal as the cover plate on the car body. Separately applied raised retaining brackets are on the brakemans steps. Separately applied ladders and cable anchors with protective tubes are on the side sills. One car comes with and one without a hand wheel for setting brakes from the ground. The type Sgns 691 transport car has a prototypical partially open car floor constructed of metal, with striking fish belly type side sills and a hand wheel on each side for setting brakes from the ground. The trucks are type Y 25. The transport cars are loaded with removable 20-foot and 40-foot box containers for different firms. . Both are lightly weathered. |
