PRODUCT LINE: 4MFOR
Various military products were marketed by Märklin in the period 2007 to 2010 under the name Metal Military Mission by Marklin (4MFOR). The product line included models of tanks and military vehicles made of metal.
Märklin wanted to enter the lucrative market of military models. A separate catalog was published and a website (www.4mfor.de) was created for the detailed military models made of metal in scales 1:87 and 1:32. A 4MFOR catalog was released in 2008, 2009 and 2010. However, the program did not sell well in practice and Märklin decided to stop producing the 4MFOR program after 2010. However, part of the program mentioned in the catalog was never produced. The following item numbers from the 4MFOR program were not produced: 18506, 18507, 18511, 18526, 18527, 18528, 18529, 18552, 18571, 18576, 18585, 18709, 18715, 18716, 18717, 18 721, 46964, 46965, 47021, 48730 .
After the 4MFOR program ended in 2010, Märklin has been releasing a set with military equipment again since 2017. This concerns set 26606 with a Ludmilla locomotive (BR 232), a silver carriage type Bn 720 and 6 heavy load cars , each loaded with a Leopard 2A6 battle tank. In 2018, several cars loaded with military vehicles will be released. |
