The science and technology program W wie Wissen, on German TVs Channel One has a chance of making it into the Guinness Book of Records: 200 Märklin class 143 model locomotives took part in an interesting experiment on the grounds of DB Systemtechnik in Munich on February 21, 2007. H0 scale 1:87 Märklin locomotives had to pull a full-size German Railroad Inc. (Deutsche Bahn AG) open seating IC car over a distance of 10 m / 32 9-¾. The car weighed approximately 48 tons empty and measured 27m / 88 7. 200 class 143 Märklin locomotives, item no. 37433, st ood ready. Lined up on 50 tracks in groups of four, they were supplied with power from 50 transformers. 3,000 VA were neede d to move the IC high capacity car. The experiment was successful and the 200 Märklin locomotives pulled the first class car smoothly and purposefully over the distance stipulated by the editors of the Guinness Book of Records.
