Description
Märklin produced 3 different editions of the 3028 model between 1957 and 1959; a steam tender model BR89 and a community train bus BR515 Source: www.mymarklin.com The 3028 is a prototype of the BR89 model produced since 1957 and the most produced model by the Goppingen company, far exceeding one million units, and on the other the 3028, a prototype BR515 this community train bus of the the real 3028 remains the 1977 tractor-trailer. The steam tender locomotive 3028 took this nickname from the fact that it came from a starset with references 3228 or 3128. These different starter sets were all produced for Austria, they were rather spartan and contained only a CM 800 (3000) locomotive without a lighting system most likely for economic reasons, a couple of wagons and an oval of M track. Starset 3228 from 1958: a Marklin CM 800, Marklin 3000 with the new numbering - series 89 028 with 2 aluminum dummy lamps, a brown 2-axle flatcar Marklin 4503, a red Marklin 4513 dump car.
